Getting ready for the first swatch measurements
Swatching is probably one of my least favourite parts of knitting, second only to weaving in ends. It feels tedious, doesn’t feel productive (even though I completely admit it is), and it’s time away from knitting the final product. Lately, however, I have been trying to embrace this process as practice, an introduction to the yarn I’ll be using, and a way to experiment.
It’s that time of year again! Well, for us it’s been that time for a few weeks, but it looks like the rest of the country is slowing getting spring too (finally I’m sure). We’re getting into the 80s, which is heading toward summer, but let’s not get ahead of ourselves. I plan on enjoying Spring for as long as I can.
I’m obsessed with foxes lately! I always seem to be the last one to jump on a bandwagon. First I started liking mustaches a bit late in the game, and now suddenly I’m into foxes.
Despite all my talk about Christmas, Halloween is my favorite holiday (Christmas is actually second). I love all the creepy-crawlers, blood-suckers, ghosts, witches, everything! With a little over 3 weeks to go until the big day (which is a Wednesday, sad day), I’m gearing up with decorations for the office and our home, and I thought I’d share some of the pieces I want to make this year.
My husband and I have been cleaning a lot lately and getting rid of a lot of junk. Now, we’re finding that our house is slowly getting ready for some personal touches. We rent, so nothing can be permanent or nailed or screwed in, so we have to be a bit creative with how we want to do things. One of the easiest ways we can freshen up our decor is through pillows for our sofa.
While I haven’t gotten much knitting done, I have been in such a crafting mood. One of my favorite things to make is a bracelet. It’s small, so doesn’t usually take much time, and it can be as challenging or as easy a project as I want. Here are some of the projects I’m adding to my DIY-To-Do list.

T-shirt Scarves
What a weekend! I certainly did anything I thought might be fun or make me smile, and I succeeded for the most part. On Friday, a group of friends and I got together and had a small crafternoon gathering. Nothing big or fancy, just us and some crafting supplies.
