I have a big confession to make. I mean, this is huge. I do not like Jane Austen. Actually, let’s correct that: I don’t like her books. I don’t know the woman, so I can’t say I don’t like her. I’ve tried so hard to like her books because I thought that’s what girls did, liked Jane Austen. I tried to read Pride and Prejudice, and I did finish Northanger Abbey, but only because it was for a class.
This is a bit controversial. Not long ago, there was a big to-do about the Jayne Hat. Sellers were forced to stop selling them. Cease and desist orders were sent out. It was crazy nonsense. I won’t get into that. I just want to focus on my love for the hat itself.
Last week, Knit Picks was giving away a free skein of Brava yarn (any weight) with purchase with a code provided in their newsletter. I take advantage of these moments whenever they come up, and I’ve never been disappointed.
I love shawls. They’re the perfect pieces for adding just a touch more warmth on chilly nights (or in chilly offices). You can use almost any technique/style with them – from cables to garter to lace. It’s lace, really, that I’m loving most right now.
That sounds strange right now, doesn’t it? Who could love a sweater as the temperatures rise to just below 100 around here? Well, I’ve mentioned it before, I’m sure. While outside meets summer, inside becomes winter. Our office is starting to get a chill to it, and I’m daydreaming about sweaters.
I am just in a Noah and the Whale kind of mood today, so I thought I’d share one of my favorite songs from them. This is Tonight’s the Kind of Night.
Since I first spotted the trailer, I’ve been dying to see Now You See Me. Have you seen this trailer? It looks like a fun, action-witty kind of flick, my favorite kind. It’s not out in time for my birthday (darn!), but close enough!
What movies are you looking forward to this summer?
I’m in the mood for Spring Cleaning. If you know me, you know that’s weird. I hate to clean. I’d rather just knit!
It’s that time of year again! Well, for us it’s been that time for a few weeks, but it looks like the rest of the country is slowing getting spring too (finally I’m sure). We’re getting into the 80s, which is heading toward summer, but let’s not get ahead of ourselves. I plan on enjoying Spring for as long as I can.
I’m obsessed with foxes lately! I always seem to be the last one to jump on a bandwagon. First I started liking mustaches a bit late in the game, and now suddenly I’m into foxes.
