Happy New Year! I can’t believe it’s already 2016. This is both my favourite and least favourite time of year. It feels like there’s so much promise, when the new year is just a couple of days old, but it also feels a little bit pressured. At least in my knitting resolutions, I see nothing but fun ahead for my new year.

Spinning Yarns and Other WIPs
Where on earth has August gone? I swear it only just started, and now it’s the last full week. I suppose that’s good in a way, because now we’re nearly to fall! This will be my first “real” fall in over a decade, with changing colours and everything.

It’s been a busy couple of weeks as we settle into our new place in our new hometown. Now that most of the boxes are unpacked, including the yarn (yay!), I’ve finally had a chance to sit down and get some work done. Of course, why work on an old WIP when you can start a brand new one?

Get Started Knitting: What You’ll Need
I’ve had a few friends ask me lately how best to get started knitting. I even had a woman come up to me in Hobby Lobby the other day in the yarn department and ask for help getting started knitting. My usual “Just do it” comment has left everyone I’ve spoken to wanting more details. As there may be some others out there who are interested in getting into knitting, I thought I’d do a mini-class/series on it.
