Digging through old boxes at my parents’ house, I found something I had forgotten all about: my first piece of knitting. It’s misshapen, awkward, and filled with holes, but it’s all mine. It’s a reminder of how far I’ve come and an inspiration of how far I have yet to go.

Happy 2014!
I realize I’m a little late, but I’m still recovering from the holidays. No, I don’t mean wild parties. I’m recovering from holiday knitting.
A Noble Cowl and the 10 Mile Mark
I hate to freak anyone out, but there are now only 23 days until Christmas. I’m a little freaked out, but despite having a growing Christmas list, last week I decided to cast on a new project, something just for me. Maybe I’ll count this as my Christmas present to me?
Hand-knit Weather!
Are you excited? I’m super excited. Finally, in Central Texas, I was able to wear some of the things I knit, with our weather finally dipping into the 30s. The wonderful weather didn’t last long, but I’m hoping it comes back soon!
Weekend Wrap-Up: Deck the Halls!

Lunch Break WIP: Irish Coffee
This post shouldn’t be called “Lunch Break WIP.” This should be “Every spare moment I get WIP” because I can’t seem to put this project down, and I’m not typically a monogamous knitter. I haven’t even looked around at other patterns on Ravelry, which is usually a daily ritual (several times a day to be exact).
The Time-Out Shelf
I was not a very happy knitter this weekend. One of my projects completely misbehaved, and then the cats helped it misbehave more. Needless to say, that project was tossed up onto the time-out shelf, and I haven’t gone near it since.
November Podcast Round-Up
Ok, since my confession of becoming newly addicted to podcasts, I keep finding more and more great ones to listen to and/or watch! That’s good because I keep waking up earlier and earlier (4 am now thanks to the stupid time change), and I now have tons of time in the mornings to relax, knit, and enjoy a great podcast.
