Well, it’s been a long week and weekend. Labor Day weekend was not kind to me at all (hence my absence); in fact, it was quite possibly the worst weekend of my life. Surprisingly (at least to me), I did slow down enough because of it to get some knitting work done and even managed to get 50% of the way through a pair of socks. That’s me, always looking for any bright side I can.
The weather’s cooled down to 90+ (until next week) and there’s a gentle breeze in the air. Now’s the time to be pondering Christmas, and boy, do I have it on the brain. So, without further ado! Tah-Dah! Ok, so it’s only about halfway done in the leg part, but here’s the first stocking so far.
After a really hectic last half of the week (hence the real slow-down on posts), I had the most relaxing weekend I’ve had in ages. With the rain falling steadily through Saturday and a little bit Sunday, it was so nice to just stay in and do nothing.
Not that I’m complaining. This time last year, we were in the middle of a summer-long drought and well over 100 degrees Fahrenheit by now. Knock on wood, 90s are feeling pretty good (relatively speaking) and it’s raining. It’s just hard to get motivated in this kind of weather.
Okay, I realize it seems a bit late/early to be talking about Christmas stockings. After all, we just entered March. Why, you may ask, have I gotten into the jolly holiday spirit so soon, or late, depending on how you want to look at it?
