For the record, these were purchased before the “Buy less yarn” goal last week. These are what inspired that goal, which I failed at miserably that very weekend. *Deep breath* My name is Ana, and it has been 4 days since I last bought yarn. Thank you.
Remember number 4 on Friday’s list?
4. Try not to buy anymore yarn.
The shawl is real starting to turn out, despite my many mistakes along the way. I’m getting very close to the end of the first round of the new section. I’m so excited to see how it turns out!
Yesterday was, all in all, a pretty good day. We (folks at the office) went to work, and I was even serenaded by someone with a morbid birthday song. It was so much fun. As the afternoon wound down, I was feeling pretty good, though exhausted from allergies. Then, what do I see?
I didn’t get a lot done last night, but I did sit down to my stash and figure out what yarn I want to use on my Android project. This is probably the most thinking I’ve done when it came to colour. I have a few different neon-ish greens. One is cotton, one acrylic, and one actual wool.
Okay, that headline is a bit misleading. It makes it almost sound like the shawl is complete, which it is not. I have, however, reached a critical milestone! I have five more rows and then bind-off. That’s right, five more rows, over 500 stitches per row, and I’m done knitting this bad boy. I’m so thrilled! It took everything not to start knitting instead of getting ready for work this morning.
Last week, my friend Stacie came over and helped me dye some yarn. Originally, she was going to help me paint the frames for the living room, but I jumped the gun and finished before she got here. While cleaning up, I found some of the Kool-Aid packets I had purchased a couple months back for my Kool-Aid Cowl. She’s an artist and loves colour. It seemed like the perfect match!
I’ve taken to spinning more than I thought I ever would. After buying the kit two or so years ago and barely using it, I figured spinning just wasn’t in my stars. Lately, though, I seem to have a need to pick it up whenever I have a spare moment.
