Yay! I’ve cast-on another hat! No stockings, despite needing so many of those. I’ll learn my lesson by the time Christmas is over. Perhaps. Then again, procrastination was always my strong suit.
An FO! I finally did it! I finish a stocking. Now, only a handful more to go and we’re good. Well, sort of.
Is it just me or has this week flown by? I feel like I was just getting up Monday morning and it’s now Friday, with very little progress on most of the projects along the way. Oh, and did I mention Christmas is only 74 days away?
I knew when I made that schedule how silly it was! I always think, “Gee, if I only had a schedule, things would turn out great.” Never happens. I make the schedule and ignore it completely. I do the same with recipes. They’re more guidelines than actual rules.
No joke! It’s only 97 days until Christmas.
The weather’s cooled down to 90+ (until next week) and there’s a gentle breeze in the air. Now’s the time to be pondering Christmas, and boy, do I have it on the brain. So, without further ado! Tah-Dah! Ok, so it’s only about halfway done in the leg part, but here’s the first stocking so far.
I’ve done it! After fiddling and ignoring the project, I finally reached its halfway point.
I finally sat down and took a look at my Christmas list for this year. I think I’ve overbooked myself! For someone who only seriously started knitting back in December 2011, I may be about to overdo it. Then again, where’s the fun without a little challenge?
Not that I’m complaining. This time last year, we were in the middle of a summer-long drought and well over 100 degrees Fahrenheit by now. Knock on wood, 90s are feeling pretty good (relatively speaking) and it’s raining. It’s just hard to get motivated in this kind of weather.
Okay, I realize it seems a bit late/early to be talking about Christmas stockings. After all, we just entered March. Why, you may ask, have I gotten into the jolly holiday spirit so soon, or late, depending on how you want to look at it?
